  • Q: How can I obtain the Canadian Firearms Regulations form?

  • Q: What are the required documents entering Canada?
    AIf flying into Canada, you must have a valid passport. if driving into Canada, a valid passport would be great, but if you don't have one, a drivers license with a photo ID on it as well as a certified copy (embossed seal) of your birth certificate will work.

  • Q: Is the crossbow allowed?
    AThe use of the crossbow is prohibited for hunting purposes in zones 17, 22, 23 and 24.

  • Q: When is the hunting Bear and small game season?
    AAugust 25th is the opening of Black bear and small game hunting season. The cost for the licence is approximated at $90.00 us for bear and approximated $50.00 us for small game. After we decide to which camp you will be hunting we will be able to recommend or not you purchase these licences.

  • Q: How physical is the hunt?
    AYour guide will take you by boat as close as possible to your hunting point, you may have to walk a short distance and elevation is not a problem. But being in good physical shape will make your hunt more enjoyable. It is not a rough Hunt unless you want it to be.

  • Q: What is the minimum age to hunt?
    ATo obtain a non-resident's hunting licence, a person must be a non-resident and be at least 12 years of age.

  • Q: Is the blaze orange vest mandatory?
    AAll hunters, guides and individuals accompanying a hunter must wear a fluorescent, orange-coloured safety vest, at least 400 square inches in size, covering the back, shoulders and chest. Hunters must make sure that the safety vest is visible at all times.

  • Q: What is the weather like?
    AThe weather like the migration is unpredictable. You could have all 4 seasons the same day. Dress yourself in layers and carry a day pack with rain gear. You can expect a lot of rain and wind with temperature range in August 60 degree daytime to 40 degree at night and in September can expect from 45 to 50 degree day time from 30 to 35 degree at night.
  • Q: What about meat transportation and preservation?
    AMost camps are equipped with solid screen meat house. Cheese cloth is supplied (American Plan) to assure the meat stays cool and bug free. The guides will field dress and pack your meat in special plastic containers. We have a refrigeration chamber in Schefferville and in Montreal for the storage of your meat and dry ice is available for small cost in Montreal.
  • Q: What is the guides chores?
    ATheir primary task is to keep the camp in top shape as well as all the equipment. Security is their major concern and to keep communications with the main base. When we hire them we make sure they understand their role that every one of our guest deserves proper attention. They will set you up on the major trails, back packing, butchering and capping your animal. They've been told to do everything they can to make your trip a dream of a lifetime.
